Maison Cognard

Situated on the border of the Bourgueil and Saint Nicolas de Bourgueil AOP regions, we have been making fine, elegant red and rosé wines from a single grape variety, Cabernet Franc, for several generations.

We now cultivate 15 hectares of vines in Organic Farmingwith respect for Mother Nature and her biodiversity. In this way, terroir and vintage reveal themselves voluptuously in our glasses.

Today, Estelle Cognard continues to share her passion for wine & vineyards, while ensuring continuity in the footsteps of her brother Rodolphe Cognard, who left too soon after a long battle with illness. You can discover the cuvée "ma cuvée DOR", its name coming from the acronym RODolphe, a cuvée created by Estelle in homage to her little brother.

Certified Organic Agriculture

We began our conversion in 2017. We had already been working our soils for two years, allowing our pretty Cabernet Franc to take root in the terroir of Bourgueil and Saint Nicolas de Bourgueil. As a logical next step, we decided to convert to organic farming. In this way, we respect people, terroir and vines. We no longer use synthetic chemicals, and we work our soils in their entirety. Our vineyard is officially certified organic for the 2020 vintage.
